KYOTO SHALLOW

At first glance, the scene appears to be a normal traditional Japanese garden. As one navigates, one discovers that the scanner originally used to capture the environment and even the artist herself exist within the point cloud. Furthermore, beneath her feet lies not earth but a shallow expanse of water. By inverting the roles of “seeing” and “being seen,” this experimental work re-examines the relationship between the view and the viewer.
